Special Project Funding Program Objective:

Special project grant funding is available to encourage unique, time limited projects that further the Ends of the Saskatchewan Band Association. Special Project funding can be used for community wide, regional or provincial initiatives that address one of more of SBA’s Ends and respond to an identified need or opportunity in the band community being served.

Eligibility

    • The facilitator of the project and/or the primary organization benefiting from the project must be current members of SBA.
    • The project must identify if it will be provincial, regional  or community wide in terms of scope and participation capacity.  Provincial projects may involve 2 or more regions or the entire province.  Community level projects must be open to all those in the community who would be interested or benefit from the project.  Regions are determined as per the Sask Sport, Culture and Recreation provincial districts and can be viewed HERE .
    • A Special Project may be applied for up to a maximum of three consecutive years to support a recurring project
    • Special Project funded events must be scheduled on dates which do not conflict with other SBA programs.
    • The project budget should be break even, realistic and not be designed to realize a profit.
    • Special Projects will be assessed based on their reach/number of participants, level of demonstrated need and ability to address one or more of SBA’s Ends.

      Disbursement of Funds:

        • Funds for Special Projects are disbursed in ONE payment after the project is complete.
        • The disbursement is sent upon receipt of the project Follow-Up Report. LINK to  Special Project Follow Up Report
        • Special Projects receiving funding MUST use SBA’s online Follow-Up Report, ensuring that all information and questions are fully completed.  This form must be completed as soon as possible after the project is complete.  All Special Project Follow-Up Reports must be submitted no later than December 31 of the project year (unless special circumstance exemption is obtained in advance) or will waive their right to receive outstanding funding disbursements.
        • Any deficit incurred in executing the project, will not be the responsibility of the Saskatchewan Band Association.
        • SBA will reimburse to a maximum of the originally approved funding level.
