The SBA, in partnership with the University of Regina, brings Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser to Saskatchewan!

ALL Band teachers, regardless of the grade you teach AND all University Band & Music Education students are welcome.  You can select between full day (with lunch included) or half-day (with or without lunch) options.  Please note, lunch will include a vegetarian option but those who have specific dietary needs are asked to bring their own lunch.

For High School Band teachers who nominated students for the Leadership Day - registration is required but FREE 


About the Event

 Special Guest Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser

Dr. Tim will offer sessions specifically designed for selected band student leaders, band teachers and band parents. This special event will also include additional development & networking opportunities.

Dr. Tim is a well-known name in the music education world as a teacher, clinician, author, composer, consultant, adjudicator, and, above all, a trusted friend to anyone interested in working with young people in developing a desire for excellence. With years of experience working directly with students and directors in leadership and motivational training, he created Attitude Concepts for Today, an organization focused on the area of positive attitude and effective leadership training.

9:45-12:15 - Building a Culture of Excellence with Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser

High-quality music programs across the nation have one commonality—students reside in a CULTURE OF EXCELLENCE. From the environment to the attention to musical detail, excellence is the filter of everything. Fueled by quality content and masterful context, it is the ongoing planting, nurturing, and harvesting of trust relationships with a constant focus on the why. One person makes a difference, and you are the one person! 

1:00-2:30 - Shepherding Tomorrow's Leaders to Artistry with Dr. Tim

Dr. Tim will discuss with band teachers how each day offers the opportunity to connect knowledge and wisdom while fostering leadership Discussion will focus on how band teachers can influence and benefit from the landscape of creativity open to our students, schools and communities Ultimately, participants will be inspired to be the teacher “who makes a difference.
