Join the Fun - Adult Musician Invitational Weekend

It's Back!  SBA is pleased to again offer adult band musicians (18 years of age and over) an opportunity to join together for a fun weekend of new music, new friends and a new Guest Conductor - Michelle Styles. 

Imagine the fun, relaxed environment of Band in the Park ... but with without the mosquitos AND with more time to work on new music & make new connections.

About the Event

The Adult Musician Invitational is being hosted at Carlton Comprehensive High School in Prince Albert, the same weekend as the Saskatchewan Youth Bands - Junior Honour Band.  

Saturday will start with a chance to meet your fellow band members and conductor with a jump into the first full band rehearsal.  With a mix of full band rehearsals, master class/sectional time with guest clinicians and social breaks, you are sure to have fun.

Sunday will include more rehearsal time before wrapping up with a shared concert with the Junior Honour Band - showcasing the lifelong value & joy of band to parents and friends.

                          Guest Conductor - Michelle Styles

Michelle Styles is the instructor of music at the University of Winnipeg and UW Collegiate. She directs the grade 9-12 band, jazz band, and choir, the U of W Choir (Lux et Veritas), and teaches an undergraduate Music Appreciation course. Before moving to Winnipeg in 2017, she taught all ages in both rural and urban schools across Saskatchewan. She is the artistic director of the Winnipeg Youth Wind Ensemble, has recently completed a Master of Music degree at the University of Manitoba in Wind Conducting under the tutelage of Dr. Jacquie Dawson, and is active as a guest clinician and conductor in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Michelle and her husband, composer Pete Meechan, love taking their two miniature dachshunds for walks, watching Jets games and Liverpool matches, cooking great food, and enjoying live music in their free time.

Join us at the Adult Band Invitational for a weekend of music, friendship and fun!
