As a band teacher, accomplished trombonist, and dedicated Saskatchewan Band Association volunteer, Julie has spent decades helping young musicians discover what participating in band can make possible. From teaching in inner-city schools to helping students overcome barriers to attending band camps, Julie has made a lasting difference in the lives of countless young people.
Now, as Julie faces brain cancer, the Saskatchewan Band Association is honouring her extraordinary commitment to band, community, and giving others the same opportunities that shaped her own life.
About the fundThe Julie Atter Pay It Forward Fund aims to help our youth discover the confidence, passion and belonging that comes though band programs and a love of music.
