      Yorkton Band Camp

      August 16 - 21, 2026

      Registration Deadline Extended: August 07, 2026

        The camp welcomes band students of all ages who have a minimum of one (1) year of playing experience on their band instrument.

          Band Camp offers comprehensive musical instruction for Woodwind, Brass and Percussion students. SBA Camps are led by an excellent staff team of qualified band and education professionals who are excited to share their vast musical knowledge with camp participants.

          • Throughout the week, camp participants benefit from;

            • Private Lessons
            • Sectionals
            • Small Ensemble work
            • Ear & Rhythm training
            • Full Band
            • Various additional band and music-related educational sessions

                                Band Camp isn’t all work … participants also enjoy a variety of on-site recreational activities throughout the week.  The added fun provides a break from playing while also offering participants a chance to relax and meet many new friends.

                                The week begins with Camp Registration and Auditions on the Sunday afternoon.  Auditions are not stressful and are simply used to help Camp staff ensure the best possible experience for each participant. Camp will run Monday – Friday generally between 8:30am – 5:00pm. Camp staff are on-site before camp should a parent need to drop a participant off early.

                                A detailed schedule – including refined start/end times for the camp - will be sent out closer to the camp start date.

                                    This year Yorkton area high school band students interested in being involved with the Band Camp have a Special Opportunity.  The SBA is organizing a formal Junior Leader Program that will run concurrently with the Yorkton Band Camp.  The Junior Leader program welcomes grade 9-12 band students .

                                      The Yorkton Band Camp Junior Leader program provides students with a unique opportunity to develop both their leadership and musical skills. Throughout the week-long camp, Junior Leaders will help organize activities, assist with supervising Yorkton Band Camp participants, and serve as positive role models for younger musicians. In addition to these leadership responsibilities, participants will rehearse and perform in a Junior Leader  ensemble, present performances for the local community, and take part in leadership workshops designed to build communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

                                      • Throughout the week, Junior Leaders will benefit from;
